Throughout my A2 media course I intend to have hopefully created a successful film magazine, poster and trailer based on the romantic comedy genre. The name of the film is called, 'Double Take'. I chose the name, 'Double Take' because the idea of the plot is that the male character had to look twice at the main female character after she has had a dramatic makeover. The characters are going to be in casual clothes throughout because as I have seen many romantic comedy films I have noticed that the characters mostly wear casual clothes and I think that it represents the characters as laid back, which is my intention. Natural lighting is going to be used throughout the trailer, this includes high and low key lighting throughout the trailer as we are filming at different times in the day. We are also going to include a voice over to the trailer using the voice memos app on my phone. I also intend to add many transitions such as fades and dissolves as I think that they would be appropriate for a romantic comedy trailer. When the scene where the main character has been transformed, we are going to use a slow motion effect of her twirling around in a dress. There are going to be short clips at the start of the trailer where each of the main characters are going to be behaving stupidly for the comedy element of the genre, each the shots will last for approximately 3 seconds each.
When it comes to the film poster and I intend to use a red and white colour scheme. I want to have a picture of the boy looking at the girl in the centre of the page, I think that this will be a successful composition and I am going to use photoshop to edit the images. I am going to add credits to the bottom of the page, I also want to include the actors names, the films name, a tag line/slogan, a star rating and a review.
For the film magazine I intend to use a red and white colour scheme again due to the fact that I think it looks professional and bold. I want to add a picture of myself as the main cover image of the magazine as this will be easier for me to take the shots at home and it gives me for time to make sure I get the perfect shots.
Soundtrack Ideas: I think that we should have an upbeat soundtrack played quietly throughout the trailer and the volume should increase on the scenes without any dialoge. I think that a piano jazz song should be played as this to me would fit in perfectly with a romantic comedy and will make the trailer cheerful and uplifting to the audience. I am going to be using garage band to create the soundtrack.
Location Ideas: We are planning to film at Crown Point North Shopping Centre in Denton, a park and in my bedroom as they are two of the only possible places we thought would look suitable in a romantic comedy.
Overall I need to carry out research and planning in order to create the successful coursework that I intend to produce for A2 media. I also intend to achieve a film magazine, poster and trailer that looks professional and surround myself with peers who would desire to take part in creating coursework based on the romantic comedy genre.
