Evaluation: Question Four

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research planning and evaluation stages?

The websites/software that I have used for the creating of my music magazine and poster and trailer and the sites that I have used in order to gain audience feedback/research:

These sites are Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, Pinterest, Instagram Direct Message.

Equipment
The equipment shown above is what I used in order to create my ancillary tasks. The canon 1000D SLR camera is we used to film our trailer and take pictures for my film magazine and poster. We used a tripod to steady the camera so that it was level for shooting. We then edited all of our work on the apple IMac.

Evaluation: Question Three

Evaluation: Question Two

I have embedded question two for my evaluation below. We have used Prezi and Slide share in order to present the information. We then uploaded it to youtube and embedded it onto our blogs.

Evaluation: Question One

Editing Screenshots For The Trailer

This is our current trailer process, We have been using the razor tool to cut down scenes and then we have been using the arrow tool to put the videos next to each other and then we have been putting them in the correct order. The pink squares are the text slides, the green are the sound and the blue are the videos. Shafia and I have been using the audio gain feature to make some of our sound recordings louder or quieter as some are louder than others.

Mise en scene research and planning (Breakfast at tiffanies)

I am going to be identifying the mise en scene features from this image from a film in the Romanic Comedy genre.

This two shot image is from the Romantic comedy, 'Breakfast at tiffanies'. The two actors are, Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard. The natural lighting in the shot is slightly low key making the setting look more romantic, it is also causing a shadow appear off the characters onto the wall. The setting is in a corridor of a flat in New York. They are both smartly dressed suggesting that they are of a high class. The characters are called Holly Golightly and Paul Varjak in the film. Looking at the body language of the two characters e.g. the mans arms around the girl and there facial expressions show that they are in love as there heads are tilted and their eyes are nearly shut showing that they are about to kiss. The mask that is on Holly's head and the mask that Paul is holding are the only props that are used in this scene. As for the framing both of the characters are in the middle to make all of the focus of the shot on the two characters who are about to kiss.

Mise en scene research and planning (The Proposal)

I am going to be identifying the mise en scene features from this image from a film in the Romanic Comedy genre.

This two shot image is from the Romantic comedy, 'The Proposal'. The two actors are, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. The natural, high key lighting makes the scene happy and upbeat. The setting is in the streets in America. They are both smartly dressed suggesting that they are of a high class. The characters are called Margret Tate and Andrew Paxton in the film. Looking at the body language of the two characters it shows that in this scene the man is more dominant due to the fact that his is on a higher level and the woman is knelt on the floor looking up to him however they are both smiling so it looks as if they are getting along. The framing shows both of the characters in the centre to make all of the focus of the shot on the two characters who are in deep conversation. The phone and bag that the actress is holding are the only props used in this scene. The colours of the image are bright and dark which makes the image interesting to look at.

Plan For The Week Post (Week Three)

This week Jenny and I have decided that we are going to be making audience research videos asking an audience what they would like from a Romantic Comedy film. We have been using iMessage to communicate with each other about our media work.

Audience Research Post

Before starting my Romantic Comedy Poster I have decided to ask the following question to a small audience of people: 'On a Romantic Comedy Poster do you think that it should have one main character on the cover or the two main characters on the cover. I recorded each interview below:

From my results it clearly shows that having the two main characters on the cover of the poster is the more popular choice therefor I am going to use both myself and Jacob as the models for my film poster.

Plan For The Week Post (Week two)

This week I have finished the previous tasks that I set myself and carried on with the description of my script.

This week I intend to:

Carry on with writing down the camera shot types and with the script's description and then add a blog post about the script.

Plan For The Week Post (Week One)

This week I intend to finish my storyboard for a scene in the film Pretty Woman and finish my survey monkey questionnaire and talk to Jenny about what roles we are both going to take in terms of our media production.

The Credits

Today I started to create the credits slide that will be used at the end of our trailer by using Photoshop. I chose the colour scheme to be red and white as they relate back to the colour scheme that I have used for my film poster and magazine, I will later explain this in my evaluation in more detail. I have also used the font, 'Althea' from daft.com as Shafia has used this font in her magazine. I intend to add the company logo's below the text as I have researched credits in trailers and found the following images that I am going to use as a guide whilst I create our credits slide:

Appropriate Audiences Image:

We have also included this green image as one of the slides on our trailer as this is used in the beginning of most film trailers (this is why we have chosen it insert it into ours) and it states the age rating for the film so that the audience is aware.

ISHOWU

This is a brief preview of us editing the trailer. Ishowu allowed us to record ourselves explaining what we were doing regarding editing whilst we were working.

Meeting Post 8

In lesson I used the stickies feature on the mac to write down what task we decided to set ourselves.

Production/ Distribution Logos

Quack Sudios and Semia Distribution Logos:

In the Lesson today we came up with the decision to use Jenny's following designs for our production and distribution logos as we thought that they appeared the most professional and they had good names.

Story Board For Double Take

I have briefly drawn this draft/storyboard regarding our film trailer double take. It shows different scenes and brief descriptions of the actions involved in them.

Social Networking Post (Magazine)

I have asked the following question in order to gain audience feedback for my film magazine progression in order to help me decided whether the reel is a good name for my film magazine.

The responses have told me that, 'The Reel' is a good name for my film magazine so I am going to use it.

Social Networking Feedback Post

I have asked the following question to some of my peers, using a number of different social networking sites to contact them, I have done this because I know that most of my friends all use different social networking sites most of the time to contact me.

I have used the following social media sites to contact my peers:

Notes page:

I used the notes app on my phone to to write down my question so that I could copy and paste the question on to the various social networking sites.

I message responses:
I used imessage in order to text my friend for his response.

Facebook messanger:

Snap chat responses:

I got mixed results as some people thought I should add different music and some said I should have the same score throughout. So I have made the decision to use the same score throughout however increase its intensity in certain scenes.

Social Networking Post (Poster)

I am going to be carrying out audience research asking the following question,
What do you think would be a good colour scheme for a Romantic Comedy film poster. By getting responses from my peers it will help me to decide on the most suitable colour scheme for my genre based on what the audience think is suitable.
I have used these social networking sites in order to contact my peers:
Twitter Direct Message
Instagram Direct message
Whats app

Instagram direct message response.
Twitter Direct Message Responses
WhatsApp responses

As the colours red and black have been the most popular response I intend to use these colours for my font in my film poster and possibly for my film magazine.
